Difference in Eastern and Western home styling

They also like it the cluttered way. The Orientals are more lavish with their spread if they have the disposable income to go with it.

Asian way of styling the home includes using a lot more of rug space. This is because the Orient has been the top place in terms of making quality carpets. Persian and Chinese carpets have ruled the roost since centuries. Asians also look to use a lot more of bright colors.

While the westerners are bent towards the earthily hues, the Asians do it the bright colored way. Asians look to create an illusion of space through use of potted plants and aquariums where the westerners use more of furniture and gadgetry. Let’s not forget that Feng-shui, the science which promotes plant usage has developed in Asia.

The sunlight from windows

Light ergonomics

Ergonomics is the subject which studies the symbiosis between humans and their immediate working or living environment. Hence, light ergonomics deal with keeping the air and light as free of contamination as possible. Visual discomfort is not perhaps the greatest idea to live with. It can create optical and neurological stress. In few people, it can also cause headaches and onset of temporal dysfunction.

This is why it is important to place the right lights and ventilators. Lights shall be sober. Psychedelic or kaleidoscopic lights hurt the brain cells and optical nerves of the eye. They also impact the cornea in a wrong way. Again, lights shall be put at least a 6 feet above the height of the tallest person. In absence of such measures, light also dissipates a lot of heat to the living surrounding. Lights must be easy on the eye, if you are using bulbs, remember to keep them in diffused socket so as to alleviate their directness.
