An alternative to traditional fireplaces

Fireplaces are always considered to be good for your décor as well as providing that required warmth in your house. People have always used the traditional fireplaces for themselves; why not opt for something different, as good as the traditional ones or even better one?

And you do have an alternative for the traditional fireplaces- the electric fireplace. The traditional fireplaces are good enough but they can be risky and cause hazards if one becomes even slightly careless.  Adding electric heaters to your house helps in zone heating and all the energy is used up in heating unlike traditional fireplaces where 90% of the heat is wasted in the fuel. If you already have a traditional fireplace installed in your home, then you can easily convert it to an electric one by installing electric logs in it. And if you love those dancing flames and miss those in the electric ones, then you can actually get the flame technology which will give the effect of real flames. So get an electric fireplace for yourself now.

How to improve efficiency of fireplace with the help of a fireplace stove

Are you having problems with the wood burning in your fireplace? Are you always worried about the blazing fire in your room? Is it difficult for you to deal with the ash particles in your room? Worry not! The efficient fire stove helps you deal with these problems.

A fire stove is actually just a closed body device. You place your wood in to this device and lock it. The wood is burnt by using the air around the fireplace and air around it gets heated up. This air is distributed further with convection currents. It ensures that more heat is retained. Moreover the fuel is burnt way more efficiently. It further adds on to better distribution of heat in the room.

Since the fuel is burnt more efficiently there is hardly any problem of ashes. Moreover, being a closed body where the combustion is actually taking place you will not have particles lying here and there in your room. How to take care of your kitchen cabinets

Your kitchen cabinets make for the most important attraction of your kitchen and having them maintained beautifully, whatever their make or material may be, is as important as buying them in the first place. There are several ways in which you can do this.

At least once each month, use a sponge soaked in mild detergent mixed with warm water to gently clean your cabinets. Afterwards, wipe with a dry, soft cloth. When it is resistant grease you want to get rid of, make a half and half mix of ammonia and warm water. Soak a sponge in it, wring it well, and scrub on the greasy areas. Avoid abrasive detergents. Wipe away with a soft material dry cloth. Semi-annually, remove the cabinet, individually, sponge them with warm water and mild detergent, following up with wiping it dry. Keep an open container of baking powder to keep the cabinets smelling fresh – replacing them in a month or two. Oil the hinges with vegetable oil, avoiding liquids containing petroleum.

Don’t keep hot steaming pots of coffee or tea under the counter in a cabinet as it will lead to warping.
