Antique Desk Chairs

Antique pieces of furniture brings to our mind ornately designed pieces and intricate wood carvings. There was not one dominant style of furniture that can be called antique. Designers used and modified many styles taken from various time periods in history like Gothic, Tudor, Elizabethan, English Rococo, Neoclassical and others.
Such antique pieces of furniture such as chairs and tables are made of heavy wood such as rose, teak, mahogany, and cherry wood. Antique chairs are often covered with patent perforated veneer. The veneer is perforated with holes, arranged in a fanciful or geometrical order, so as to add beauty to comfort and strength.
Antique desks have the typical drawers on either side of it. This makes it spacious and is often used at offices. A piece of antique furniture lends an aura to any room. Historical artwork on chairs and desks is being redesigned to suit the modern taste.
