From this, linoleum derives its name.

Inlaid is the most refined form of linoleum. These are made from pieces of juxtaposed linoleum. Owing to such a pattern, inlaid is very long-lasting. If linoleum is of a strong quality, it can well withstand the pressure that even more course textured floor materials can’t bear. The material is hypoallergenic and can be renewed very quickly. This way, it can do well in different climates without giving the fear of wear sand tear. Linoleum floors can also soak water and not get worn out; though it is important for the linoleum to be of good quality to tackle water.
